Axcelle Campana

Environmental Justice Practitioner

Axcelle envisions a future where all people have access to a healthy environment, clean water and air, nature, and healthy food. He brings together community-based research and geospatial analysis to help highlight salient Environmental Justice problems. His career has focused on capacity building and leadership development within communities of color and rectifying “wicked” problems resulting from historical and present-day discrimination, marginalization, and cycles of violence. Axcelle has been a facilitator for the last ten years, focusing on organizational change, diversity, equity, and inclusion. He deeply values civic engagement, democratic processes, social solidarity, and collaborative visioning across diverse stakeholder groups. Axcelle is the 2022 Bullitt Environmental Fellow, an honor bestowed by the foundation to recognize young people who have overcome adversity and demonstrated the ability to become influential environmental leaders.
